Change your password please..NOW!

Dear All,

Due to long holiday and also in order to give more ample time for the remote users to change their passwords, we have postponed the above matter to 7 February 2006. After that those who haven't updated or renewed their password for the last 6 months, the system will automatically expire the old password.

Anyway, those who have access to the network, its advisable do it now or within these couple of weeks. Doing so will minimize any interruption to your work. Do take note, for security purposes you need to follow the minimum password requirement. Please refer our previous e-mail below.

Subject: Change of Network Password Policy

Dear All,

Please note that in compliance to PWC's audit requirements, the Network password needs to be changed every 6 months. The following password setting is recommended: -

1. Password length must be minimum of 7 characters.
2. Password must be Complex with combination of Capital letter, Small letter,
Numeric and Symbols.(eg AB12cd+_%)

The effective change date has been scheduled on 24th Jan 06, thus all passwords will expire. When you logon to the network, there will be a pop up message informing you that your password needs to be changed.

Please follows the instructions and change your password accordingly to avoid any inconvenience.

I have been using the same password for god-knows-how-many-donkey-years, and now they want me to change?

Die la like this..I'm bad at remembering passwords.

Another Headache

A couple of days ago I received a sms from Mdm X.

Do u know if anything is going on with Mr. X (and wud u tell me in the 1st place, if there was?)

I told her nope.

Another sms... Wud u tell me if u knew something was amiss? or wud ur loyalty 2 him override ur decision 2 tell me?

Damn!!! The million dollar question!

I told Mdm X if your hubby had been cheating on you, I'd bounce his skull first before telling. If anything else would be up to my discretion.

Mdm X wasn't satisfied with my sms and called me up.

They were having some problems in their marriage apparently.

I was told he has been acting cold towards her lately. Always in a foul mood at home but with friends he doesn't show it all.

I've known Mr. X since we were 10 years old. Ok, their marriage wasn't made in heaven. His parents were against the marriage all along until they were blessed with a couple of kids. It took a while for his parents to accept her but even then she'd always be conscious when she's with them. Me? I had always been the balachi for them..acting as the peacekeeper then and now...this!!!

In the end I told her I can only listen to your problems but I will not be dishing out any more advice as it could be detrimental to my health.

Her last sentence to me was a killer....

I don't want to be another statistic

Here I am, a person with a failed marriage, and yet people come to me with their marital/relationship problems. This isn't the first time and it won't be the last I guess.

Small small problems, yes I may help out, but big ones like this I don't think I could and would.

Warning : Battery Low

To tell you the truth, I just don't know what to write anymore. I'm contented in reading other people's posting than doing my own.

I envy others who could write what they think. They have the flair for writing I guess. Me, I write reports. Boring factual reports. Things (and ideas) go on in my mind but I just can't seem to write it down on paper. I tried and I tried but nothing comes out.

Sigh.

I need to recharge my batteries. Counting the days till I go off on a long break.

Mission Accomplished!!!

After a month of playing Sniper Elite, I finally completed all the missions today. The final mission was to escape from Berlin via Templehof Airport with the nuclear scientist.

Now what am I supposed to do while waiting for my futsal game at 10 pm, or any other day that matters?

Time to earn my keep

Monsoon season means there is not much work for me at site. It also means that I'm stuck in office doing paperwork.

The new year means I have to also do a performance review of my staff. Not that I don't like to do it but it is time consuming. Firstly they have to do their own review, then my turn to review, have discussions etc etc. Satisfied, then submit to the boss for another round of review and discussion (with him).

If I give too good a review, I'll be questioned. If I don't give a good review, I'd still be questioned. So, meet halfway? Guess I have to give my sound and good judgement, or not those under my me will not be getting any juicy bonuses (like the company will give anyway). Hopefully bonus will be good when the time comes (I'd like a promotion too please).

Hmmm, my unit is being reviewed too by the management. We're the newest entity and currently the most active. Damn, my two current projects have only just started and management expect more from us this year? Wonder if I can keep up with all these? I'm cracking my head just trying to prepare the Business Plan.

Well...life goes on.

Poison

Sneaked out from office during lunch and stopped by at Ah Hoi's@Sunway Cycle. Wanted to wish him Happy New Year and congratulations for his shop's 10th Anniversary. Heh heh, he saved me a t-shirt to commemorate the event. Free t-shirt..woo hoo.

I was admiring a Ducati 1000DS and a 999 (also a Ducati) when Ah Hoi started to poison my mind.

"GS...the DS is a 2004 model, only 2,000 kms done."

"Ah Hoi..don't start!!!"

"This bike suits you. Mat Torque kan..plenty of power. Engine delivery smooth. Can chuck anyone. Not your normal sportsbike, not even a supermotard....but hypermotard."

"Too wide la. My feet can't touch the ground."

"No proble, if too high I can sculpture the seat to suit your height."

"Gila kau Ah Hoi..sure mahal"

"RM73K only. I'll even arrange the financing for you. Insurance? You take with Pian la."

"I have others too for RM70K. You can have a K3 (Suzook), 954 (Fireblade 2003 model) or ZX6 (Kwak)."

"Dah..dah..Ah Hoi..Jangan nak racun lagi. Next year kut. Thanks for the t-shirt."

I immediately made my move..before I do something stupid.

Comfort Zone

Neil Hodgson, 2003 World Superbike Champion reflecting on his disappointing 1996 & 1997 seasons in WSB; "I was in a factory team. Everything was great, I was getting all the support. Getting 2nd or 3rd on the rostrum was good enough me instead of 1st. I was in too much in the comfort zone. That got me kicked out."

Hmmm, that sounds a lot like me now. I guess I was staying too long in the comfort zone.

Maybe, just maybe, 2006 will be the year for me to get out from this zone. Looking back, I may have moved on, but I'm still within it. I need to get out completely.

No more Mr. Nice Guy?

Peter Pan

Last Friday was the last time I played futsal for 2005 at Rio. I came slightly late and the parking was full. What the f**k?

Saw a couple of cars with TV3 and Peter Pan stickers plastered everywhere. Took no notice of them. Lotsa people around. Went in straight to the usual pitch. Hmmm..no gol & gincu gang. Surveyed around. Everyone was crowding around the pitch behind us.

I was Mr. Butterfingers, can't even catch the ball properly. What's wrong with me?

Pulled my out before it ended to save further embarassment. Sat with the ladies wives and chit-chat with them.

E, Mooze's wife said "Peter Pan was here. They played futsal."

I was like "Huh?"

"The pitch behind you. They were there. Managed to get their autograph"

So that was the reason for ruckus.
