Nak Tidur

Monsoon is still strong here. I pity the fishermen, they can't go out as the sea is too rough. No fish, no income.

However the spirit of gotong-royong is alive and well between them. Families are helping out one another packing their stuff in high alert for the flooding. Yes, flooding is a problem here but it is containable. There are pockets of area deep under water but somehow we managed to get them to safe grounds.

My site office is a hive of activity one of the centres for the distribution of goods for those affected by flooding. We have been working day and night, some of us getting just a couple of hours of sleep. With the river just a couple of meters away, we are in constant watch over the rising water everyday. We no longer rely on the staff meter to gauge the height of the water but more on our eyesight (and gut feelings).

My job is to coordinate the movement of the relief vehicles laden with supplies for the victims. So far no accidents have happened (with my staff looking like zombies and you can hardly see the roads I worry when they go to send out the supplies). We send out mostly blankets and other stuff (tinned food mostly). I guess this is the only time I'm grateful to the local politicians and bureaucrats for making all these happening.

I'll be here for another couple more days and hope to be back in KL before the new year.

Sorry for the incoherent sentences (not enough sleep makes you do that I think). Anyway, a happy belated xmas and a Happy New Year to all soon. Gotta get some more zzzzzs.

The weekend that was

Friday night, futsal as usual albeit a little late. Since I am playing golf the next day (early tee off), decided not to be too heroic (main half pace la) and not lepak as usual after game.

Saturday morning it rained! Braved the rain and reached Saujana 15 minutes before tee time. The rest of the flight was there and rain had stopped. Nice weather for golf! Overcast and cooling.

Teed off on time @7.55 am. Since I haven't played a while (more like 6+ months), my driving atrocious. Instead of going straight, it went left and right (nasib baik the rest of the gang allowed me to drive a couple of times to arrest my bearing).

Tak boleh jadik nih!. Changed tactics. Drive using my 3 Wood. Went straight but won't get the distance. Instead of on the green by one or two strokes (depending on par), had to add another stroke to cover the loss of distance. Rugi..rugi.

Thought my putting would save the game but damn....the greens were fast. Gila punya laju! Tak boleh baca langsung. Hancus game terus..

By the time I reached the 16th hole, my right shoulder was hurting badly. Nak swing pun susah, pukul bagi cukup syarat aje. We finished the game 12 noon on the dot.

Night time was office's annual dinner at Crowne Plaza Mutiara and I had use my left arm to carry my dinner plate (buffet). Sunday was feeling crappy (body aching mah) and Monday I got an MC. Apa lagi..pulun tidurla.

numb3ers

This post has nothing to do with the TV series numb3rs ya.

This past week has seen me travelling up down up down KL-Shah Alam.

Is it me? but I seem to notice the same numbers (on the cars' no plate) appearing here and there....999, 996, 955, 916, 888, 851 and the clincher..2462.

Ok, 2462 I can go buy Magnum 4D, but the 3 digit numbers????

The Chronicles Absurdities of Narnia

Watched The Chronicles of Narnia last nite.

Not bad, but still cannot challenge Lord of the Rings la. Lotsa kids eventhough it was the 11.35pm show. The length of the movie was 2 hours 10 minutes.

Remain seated after the show coz during the ending credit there's one extra scene.

Some comments though.

1. Male fawns and centaurs all had naked torsos. But when it comes to the females, they're like wearing clothes. WTF???

2. The male fawn walks on its(his) hind legs. Ouestion : Where's his d**k and balls?

3. After Peter killed the wolf with his sword, Aslan asked him to clean his sword. Hello....there's no blood on it. In fact, you don't see blood at all in the movie (must be the UMUM rating).

4. Aslan's army was camped inside a valley. Are they suicidal? You're open for a massacre if the enemy holds the higher grounds. Hmmm, funny also, since the witch knows where Aslan's army is, she should have taken advantage and surprised them while they're in camp.

5. One of the wolves managed to escape and Aslan's soldiers followed it to the Witch's camp. They also managed to rescue Edmund. Question : Where the f**k were the Witch's sentries?

6. Edmund's archers were stationed on higher grounds during the aerial bombardment on the witch's army by the half eagle/half feline animals. Question : Why didn't they give covering fire while the raid went on? Instead they allowed the Witch's archers to shoot the animals down.

7. The centaurs went to war wearing armour on the torso but was armourless on his horse end part. Assuming his torso was 3 feet high while his horse end part was say 5-7 feet long, he couln't have defended himself well. Question : Shouldn't they be attacked at the most vulnerable part by the Witch's army instead of fighting head on?

8. Peter brought the Witch and her army to a narrow gulley, kononnya a trap. But again, the archers fired just one salvo and after that, just stood by and let them move forward.

9. It is a narrow gulley, suddenly they're fighting hand to hand in a slightly open plain. Huh? Where did that come from?

Good movie but some of the scenes defies logic right?

Wounded Knee (Not Custer's Last Stand)

Ever since I got back from Sweden, I have this pain in my left knee. As the type who walks up and down the stairs at the office everyday (I don't use the lifts) and everywhere, the pain is damn unbearable.

So today, summoned enough courage to visit the clinic and Doc told me I have Runner's Knee. Phew! Thank God it's not athritis.

Doc's remedy : Get a knee guard with opening for the kneecap. Helps to lessen the impact on the knee. Oh ya, I'm supposed to put an ice-pack on the knee from time to time. I'm supposed to rest the knee too (Nope..no way that I'm going to give up Futsal)

If you people do see someone hobbling around at your area, have pity please, it might be me :D

Looney Toons

Yesterday Ewok, the Moozes and I were dragged by Lil Ms D to meet her date somewhere in Hartamas. I'm good at becoming a balachi these days. Anyone wants to use my services?

(That's twice I've saved you. Masuk buku 555 ok)

Mak aiii!!! Tua nya.

He's 50+, anak 10 + 2 (step la), divorced 3 times..and still looking for another one. I think he can pass as one of the candidates for the new Mencari Cinta show, but sure kena kicked out in the 1st episode - reason? tua kerepot. He looks like one of the security guard at my office, tapi kaya gila..pakai SLK lagi. Oh ya, he's a contractor by the way.

Aiyooo..you want to date aaaa, next time wear something nice la. Slacks - ok, shirt - checked (ok la), shoes - tarak pakai selipar?????. Apa punya jantan la. No fashion sense at all.

From the conversation, he's looking for companionship and mother to his kids (wuih..eldest 29 years old ok).

Alo D, he's not for you la. But he does seem interested with Ewok. Hahaha (Sure die la I if she reads this).

Anyway, we drank the most expensive smoothie we could find and he paid for it. Ketuk..jangan tak ketuk.

Ewok gave the reason got to go somewhere and Ms D had to send her home...and the date ended.

Why la Lil Ms D always get this kind of men?

Riding Memories..that I wished did not happened

My Sundays there were mostly filled with me riding everywhere within the state.

There was this one incident which I shall never forget.

It was in early November and it was quite cold, but that never deterred me from riding. I had cut my hair the day before so I had to use a balaclava to compensate for the lack it (and it was cold anyway). Put on the helmet, zipped up my leathers* and I hit the road.

* Hein Gericke Leathers are crap for fall/winter conditions. It’s like riding naked in that sort of temperature. Bought it cheap la..end of season sale. What do you expect? Note : Use a touring suit for warmth.

After riding for some time, had the urge to pee. Ok…can still hold. Ten minutes later..aiyoh, kenot tahan la. Looked at the map taped to my tank. There’s a town about 15 miles out. Maybe can get breakfast too.

Pulas throttle. My mind was like a rojak..pikir tu pikir ni just to stop thinking of peeing. Reached the town. First diner I see I quickly stopped.

Masuk aje dalam, the waitress nodded her head to the direction of the Gents. Must have seen a lot of bikers like me.

Quickly went in the nearest cubicle. Dah tak tahan nih. Ungloved my hands. Pulled the zipper down.

Tak Nak!

Tarik lagi..still it did not budge. Alaaa…zip buat hal ke????

Traced my hand along the zip (kenot see la coz helmet blocking). Shit!!!!

Balaclava stuck to the zipper!!!! Camner nih???

I was like moving around soooo much in the cubicle, banging along the wooden walls and door just to pull down the zipper.

I don’t know how much swearing I was doing…in all languages (I think) at the zip.

I was this close to bursting in my leathers when I finally managed to unzipped the leathers and do my business. Phew..lega!!!!

Dah habis kerja…..dengan machonya keluar konon nak breakfast.

Damn!!! The diner was full…and everyone was staring at me. I guess I must have made such an “impression” in the gents.

Disebabkan terlalu malu…terus blah aje ke motor…tak pandang belakang pun.

Playing Games

Bought the game "Sniper Elite" a couple of days ago.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Since today I've not much work to do (being out late last nite was also another reason), downloaded it into my PC.

Man, this game is good.

Storyline is very simple. Last days of World War II. You being a crack sniper, you're required to carry out missions of vital importance which may change the outcome of war.

You can be either a German or Russian sniper.

Unlike Doom or Quake (which I cannot play coz I'll always get vertigo) where you just wham blam everything and anything in front of you, this game requires you to be stealthy and have the skills in sniping. You really have to be cunning, where to place your sniper, when to shoot etc etc.

Some may find it boring, but it suits me just fine. Thank you.

Gotta go. Have a Russian General to assassinate.
